David Beckham speaks on fatherhood and health
Posted on 12:13 AM by Unknown
David on getting older:
“Even at 36, I’m still running 12 miles a game. [But] I’ve definitely become more aware on the field. I know what my limits are, what I can achieve, and which passes I can play. I have adapted to my age.”
David on the importance of family and close friends:
“I’ve got friends at the different teams I’ve played for, but family is the most important thing to me. That will always be the case. I’ve got my wife. I’ve got my four kids. I’ve got parents, grandparents still, and three really good friends. It’s all you need. I’d rather have three really good friends than 20 good friends.”
David on how being stubborn has helped his career:
“I am a very stubborn person. I think it’s helped me over my career. I’m sure it has hindered me at times as well, but not too many times. I know that if I set my mind to something, even if people are saying I can’t do it, I will achieve it.”
David on fatherhood:
“It would be easy for our kids to sit back and not work for anything, but they’re not like that. They’re as competitive as Victoria and me. We’re very lucky with our boys: They want to win. They want to work at something. They know their values. That’s the way we’ve brought them up so far, and that’s the way we’ll continue to bring them up.”
David on how professional athletes have changed over recent years:
“Sportsmen have changed over the past 10 to 15 years. When I came into the Manchester United squad, you still heard about players going out for a few beers after a game. That doesn’t happen very much now. The real professional players look after themselves a lot better than they did 10 years ago, and that’s obviously how you see the likes of Ryan Giggs or myself still playing at the top level.”
David on his potentially career-ending Achilles tendon injury in 2010:
“There was only 1 day when I doubted that I’d get back to playing. It was 2 days after the operation when my bandages came off and I saw the scar. It was very different from what I’d seen a few days before, and it scared me. I think that’s the only time I’ve really felt that I wouldn’t play football again. I was emotional…I’ve played this sport for quite a few years. To think that I wouldn’t be doing it anymore upset me. But it lasted only for the day. My kids walked into the room, and that took my mind off of it. From then I was determined, absolutely determined, to get back. The surgeon told me I’d be back playing in 9 months. I was back in just under 6.”

Manchester United to sign a 3 years old kid, Charlie Jackson
Posted on 1:41 PM by Unknown
At the age of 3, Charlie Jackson was spotted by Manchester United scouts after he impressed them with his skills and tricks combined with magnetic dribbling. However it wasn’t until 5 that Manchester United scouts decided he was old enough to make it to their development centre for training.
Charlie Jackson is from Denton, Greater Mancheser and he lives with his father Andy, mother Claire and 12 year old brother Jake.Despite his parents being the fans of the blue side of Manchester, they were so proud that their son were selected by the Manchester United scouts.
Andy said: “His idols are Joe Hart and Mario Balotelli and at first he was mortified that he was having to train with United but he seems to be getting over that a bit now. He loves training with the club and it’s an amazing opportunity for him. Everywhere we go people notice him because of his football talent, whether it’s on the park or on holiday. People just stand there and watch him, they can’t believe he’s only five because he’s so good.”
Andy didn’t forget to praise his son’s abilities,
He added: “He has power in his left and right foot. For a little boy he’s so strong, he’s unbelievable. Me and my wife had to get him a bicycle to try to divert his attention because he was getting so obsessed with football.”
Charlie was first spotted by Manchester United scouts while he was training with Footytotz, which is a community football programme for both boys and girls. Charlie trains with United once a week along with Footytotz in Denton which provides coaching for young children and he attends classes at Manor Park Primary School.
However his father Andy Jackson had something more to say,
He said: “My wife mithered me to take him to Footytotz to begin with because she thought he was really good and was sick of him running around the house with a ball. It ended up being the best thing we ever did. We haven’t set him any long-term goals. The moment he stops enjoying football is the moment we look at doing something else with him. There’s no pressure on him at all but it would be nice if he plays for City one day.”

Manchester United are well known for bringing up young stars from their academy and will the 5 year old Charlie Jackson be the star of the future, would he be the one your kids would look upto? Time will tell.

David Beckham's statue erected, beautiful!
Posted on 11:53 AM by Unknown
............and the trademarked object between his legs......
Anyway, the staue is called "statue of David" which was placed outside last night’s H&M David Beckham Bodywear launch party in London.
when he was asked about that object in his boxers he said and i quote "“I’ve never, ever padded out my pants, or shoved socks down there though.”
I’ve never had to for any of the photoshoots I’ve done because hopefully, I don’t need to.” “Well, let’s just say I’ve been told I don’t need any help in that department. I think I’m pretty OK!”
David Beckham’s confidence definitely comes from his big package! Victoria Beckham is one lucky girl!

15 THINGS YOU DONT KNOW ABOUT ASAMOAH GYAN
Posted on 12:58 AM by Unknown
But what is it that you don’t know about the Sunderland and Ghana forward? Here are the top 15 things you didn’t know about him
1.) He was born on November 22, 1985 and shares the same birthday with Nigerian footballer Yakubu Aiyegbeni, American actress and singer Scarlett Johansson and former French general and statesman Charles André Joseph Marie de Gaulle who led the Free French Forces during World War II.
ASAMOAH GYAN
2.) He attended high school at Accra Academy, the same school where current Ghana left back Lee Addy and former Ghana midfielder Owusu Afriyie studied
3.) He cites former French and Manchester United forward Eric Cantona as his football hero. He also draws his inspiration from African strikers like Cameroon’s Samuel Eto’o, Ivory Coast’s Didier Drogba, Togo’s Emmanuel Adebayor and Mali’s Fredi Kanoute
4.) He became English Premier League side Sunderland’s record signing after £13.2m move from Stade Rennais. The move from the French club was only finalised 20 minutes before August 2010 transfer deadline.
5.) Gyan wears No.33 shirt for Sunderland, but only because Kieran Richardson already took his lucky No.3. He has number 3 cut into his hair on both sides of his head and also wears a No.3 medallion. He says, “Three is the shirt I wore as a teenager in Ghana. It is a powerful number. I’ll give you an example. If you are lifting something heavy, you count to three before you lift. If you want to warn someone, you warn them once, then twice and the third time you take action.”
6.) He has been shortlisted for the FIFA Ballon d'Or award alongside other Africans Didier Drogba and Samuel Eto'o
7.) Asamoah Gyan’s girlfriend is the bootylicious Irene Akosua Boatemaa Dwomoh the 2006 Miss Ghana.
8.) He can dance and rap and recently co-released a single called African Girls with Ghanaian hiplife artist Castro the Destroyer where he features under the nickname 'Baby Jet'. The video shows his dance celebration, ‘Asamoah Dance’, which he demonstrated at the FIFA World Cup 2010.
9.) If he were not a footballer, Gyan could be playing music. He writes his own music, likes hip-hop and dancehall and artists Eminem and Sean Paul. “Music is my life after football. Some players like to play golf, I like music.”
10.) Gyan is the only player in World Cup history to have stepped up FIVE times in two world cups to take penalties. He has converted three and missed two.
11.) In November 2004 Gyan scored his first international goal at the age of seventeen against Somalia, becoming the youngest ever player to score for Ghana. The hitman also scored the fastest goal of the 2006 FIFA World Cup after 68 seconds against the Czech Republic, Ghana's first ever goal in a World Cup final.
12.) He hit the record books in the 2010 FIFA World Cup by having 33 shots, the most by any player at the tournament. He was also named Man of the Match in the games against Australia and Serbia
13.) Scored in his debut against Wigan, after side-footing Jordan Henderson's cross past Wigan goalkeeper Ali Al-Habsi
14.) In an interview, Gyan said he could have also handled the ball on the goal line if it meant getting into the 2010 World Cup semi finals. “I have forgiven him. If it was me, I’d have done the same thing,” he says of Luis Suarez who cleared the ball with his hands. “He made himself a hero in his country. It was cheating, but he got Uruguay into the semi-finals. Maybe I’ll have to do that in an important game for Sunderland.”
15.) His brother, Baffour Gyan, currently plays in Ghana for Asante Kotoko.
